LIPS are for ladies
On my way to the Ladies International Poker Series in Las Vegas at The Orleans. Two of us ladies won entries into the tournament and we are planning to bring the gold back to San Diego! I never liked playing in women only tournaments in the past but things are changing at a rapid pace. As you guys well know, women are different then men and poker is no exception. Out of the highest one hundred money making poker players, there is only one woman. These stats are not true because it only takes in consideration certain tournaments and no live play. I remember in the 70’s when it was advertised “Women welcome if accomanied by a male”. It was in northern California and I was offended. Maybe that’s why i became the first woman poker dealer n Las Vegas. My personal profile; mydeardealer.blogspot.
We play better now and do things that the women before us, didn’t have the opportunity to do. Men were playing poker at their weekly games while we were tending to our homes and families, idealy that is. Some of the women did sneak off to play back in the day. My own mother was one. These women were not well thought of or maye too well thought of. These gambling women with their manly ways were the party girls of the age. Hustler was not a well recieved notion and that goes double for the female gender. Women have been labled just as society does with every gender, creed and religion. If you don’t fit the mold then you must be wrong or evil or BAD, usually all of the above. Those of us who look so called manly because it’s a hat and jeans day, what we are most comfortable in. Or it’s a make-up and flirty look, kinda day and opinions are drawn from that by the weaker sex, be it man or woman! We all have our times to feel weak and vulnurable but at the poker table is not the place. The girls are all grown up now, in every sense of the phrase. Play like woman!
